Age 75, passed away Monday, January 16,2012 at Porter Hospital in Valparaiso. Thomas was born October 19, 1936 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Henry and Haidee Lou Simmons. On December 22, 1962, he married the love of his life Jean Midkiff in Arkansas. Thomas proudly served in the United States Navy and was a 1990 retiree Crane Machinist for Inland Steel.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 49 years; Jean Simmons of Lake Station, son Timothy (Ye-Pun) Simmons of Arizona, daughter Kimberly (Rudy) Mlynski of Portage, 2 grandchildren; Zachary and Taylor Mlynski both of Portage, sister, Mary Lou Goodsell of Kentucky and other loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Henry and J.C. Simmons and sister, Azlee Simmons.
Funeral services for Thomas will be Friday, January 20, 2012 at noon at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, with Rev. Andy Almanza officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation for Thomas will be Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
