Tim D. Larson, 63, passed peacefully on July 8, 2022 at home in Portage, IN.

He was born on March 15, 1959 in El Paso, TX to James R. and Julie Larson while his father was serving in the military.

He graduated from Portage High School, Class of 1977.

Tim is survived by his wife of 40 years: Lori (Aydelotte), his high school sweetheart, and their son: Travis; mother: Julie Bannon; sister: Julie "Juge" Prentice; brother-in-law: Mike (late Chaya) Aydelotte; sisters-in-law: Kathy (Mike) Bloomquist, Candace (John) Klimut, Denise Wodesky, and Joann Aydelotte; stepmother: Darlene Larson; aunt: Lola Wells; and nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his dad: Jim Larson; stepdad: Felix Bannon; and in-laws: Chet and Annie Aydelotte.

A strong, hardworking family man, Tim was a Steelworker at Cleveland Cliffs – Burns Harbor (Formerly Bethlehem Steel) in the Plate Mill Slab Yard with 45 years of service.

Tim's lifelong passion and joy was fishing!!  Always had a blast catching bass with his son and wife and he loved his Canada trips.  He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.  Tim and Lori enjoyed their pool, hiking, bird watching and feeding, landscaping, and many other projects through their life together.  In recent years their greatest joy was their Cottage at Fish Lake, IN.  Hiking Turkey Run State Park in the fall was always a favorite!  So many great times!  Tim was our handsome protector and provider, always taking care of business.  He made sure the bills were paid, feeders filled, and pets happy!  We were truly blessed with the best!

Tim, your wings were ready, but our hearts were not… until we're together again.

A Celebration of Life for Tim will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel (5341 Central Ave, Portage) from 10:00-12:00.  A Memorial Service will take place at 12:00 P.M. with Chaplain Ben Polhemus officiating.  Luncheon will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Tim's honor may be made to Turkey Run State Park (8121 Park Rd, Marshall, IN 47859).  In the memo line, please write "Tim Larson Memorial"
