Timothy Scott Stanton Sr.

Tim Stanton, age 66, of Portage, Indiana, passed away on April 23, 2026, at St. Mary Medical Center. He was born on January 13, 1960, in Valparaiso, Indiana, to the late Malcolm and Myra (née Hines) Stanton. On October 26, 1994, Timothy married the love of his life, Vicki (née Karnes) Stanton. He dedicated 38 years of service to U.S. Steel, working as a tractor driver, and enjoyed his retirement over the past three years.

Timothy had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed mushroom hunting, bike riding, and riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends. He never met a stranger and will be remembered for his warm personality and the love he had for those around him. His family was truly the center of his world.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Vicki Stanton; daughter, Brittny (Aaron) Peña; son, Timothy (Staci) Stanton Jr.; four grandchildren, Gage, Adalynn, Blake, and Parker; brother, Ted Stanton; three sisters, Yvonne Brookover, Tamera (Michael) Steege, and Ann (David) Wells; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Myra Stanton; mother-in-law, Georgia Alexander; and father-in-law, Roger Karnes.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, Portage, Indiana. Cremation will follow.
