TIMOTHY F. SULLIVAN, JR., age 74, of Portage, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015. He was born on October 14, 1940 in Chicago, IL. Timothy had been a Portage resident since 1985 coming from Homewood, IL. He earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Depaul University and a Doctorate from John Marshall Law School. Timothy was employed as a teacher for the Chicago Public Schools. He was a member of both the Indiana and Illinois State Bar Associations. He was a member and past president of Gabriel's Horn, a former member of the board NW Indiana Community Action, and present member and treasurer of Porter Township Democratic Club. Timothy received the Teachers Apple Award in 1983 and was also voted Humanitarian of the Year in 2013 by the NW Indiana Community Action.
Timothy is survived by his wife, Marilyn; step-daughter, Marcelle (Jim Prahlow) O'Kelly of Porter; step-grandsons, Ryan (Brittany ) Campbell and Brandon (fiancée, Dani English) Campbell all of Fishers, and step-great grandson, Grant Campbell; sister-in-law, Maureen Sullivan of Washington, D.C.; nephew Terry Lee Sullivan and great niece McKenna Sullivan all of Washington, D.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Timothy F. and Marie Sullivan; brothers, Terence and Jeffrey Sullivan; sister, Rosemary Sullivan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Gabriel's Horn, P.O. Box 943, Portage, IN 46368.
A visitation for Timothy will be Saturday, May 23, 2015 from 2:00 until the time of funeral service at 4:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage.
