Tina Marie Gillis

Age 53, a Florida resident and former Portage resident, passed away on Wednesday, September 4,2024. Born on December 13, 1970, in Gary, Indiana, Tina was a 1989 graduate of Portage High School. She was thrilled by singing karaoke and making TikTok videos, commonly becoming the party's dazzling star.  She will be remembered for her lively personality, warm smile, and remarkable talent for befriending others. Her love for her children, grandson and family was boundless. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Tina is survived by her three sons, Joel Bogdan, Cody Wishnevski and Logan Wishnevski; grandson, Ammon Bogdan; mother, Brenda (nee Dorsett) Jatczak; step father, Bobby Thompson Sr.; two brothers, Bobby (Mandy) Thompson Jr. and Brian (Michelle) Thompson; sister, Traci Henson; numerous nieces and nephews, Trevor (Sara) Clendaniel,  Natalia (Kevin), Zander, Samantha, Ethan, Chloe, D.J., Valerie, and Drake and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Lenn Gillis, daddy, David Jatczak and her brother-in-law, Jeff Henson.

A funeral service for Tina will be held Monday, September 16, 2024, at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage, Indiana 46368. The burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Portage. A visitation will be held Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 2:00-8:00 pm also at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
