Tina Loney Louise Byers, age 69 of Hobart passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013. Tina was born on November 20, 1943 in Tampa, FL and moved to Indiana in 1965. She was a member of Barrington Ridge Baptist Church. She graduated from High school in Albany, GA. She also took classes at Indiana University, Northwest towards becoming a nurse. She worked in numerous restaurants in Northwest IN as a waitress and bartender. In 1988 she opened her own day care facility which she operated until her health problems forced her to retire. She was the most loving, selfless, caring, giving, beautiful mother any child could want or ask for. How lucky I was to be her daughter.

Loving mother of Julie Christina Vanderplough (Bill Peterson) of Hobart, Loving grandmother of Nicole Christina Vanderplough (Mike Bilderback) of Hobart and Kelli Anne Vanderplough of Hobart, IN.,lifelong partner, John Johansson of Gary, IN, loving aunt of John Massey, Jr. of Washington State, Sister in law to Richard Seubert of Knob Noster, MO.

Tina is preceded in death by her parents Charles Goodman and Nettie Louise Clark (nee Johnson), sister Pearl Seubert and brother Charles Clark, Jr.

Funeral Service for Tina will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart with Pastor Mitch Whidden officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 2 – 8 pm.
