Tommy Keith Buckmaster, Sr., age 60, of Portage, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015. He was born on May 8, 1955 in Hammond, Indiana to Clarence and Peggy Buckmaster. He was currently employed with Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad where he worked as an electrician for the past 37 years. Tommy was an avid Dr. Who fan and enjoyed taking pictures. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 41 years: Rose Buckmaster; sons: Tommy (Catherine) Buckmaster, Joseph (Nancy) Buckmaster, William (Desiree) Buckmaster, Josh (Diana) Buckmaster, Wesley (Stephanie Bedlow) Buckmaster; daughters: Jennifer (David) Taylor, Rosalin (Steven) Brown; 22 grandchildren and one on the way; 2 great grandchildren; brothers: Edward Buckmaster, David (Lynn) Buckmaster, Clarence (Stephanie) Buckmaster III; sisters: Deborah Jeffers, Loriann (Joe) Bailey.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Peggy Buckmaster; parents in law: Rosalin and Ted Hanson; brother: James Buckmaster; brother in law: John Jeffers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.

A funeral service for Tommy will take place Friday, September 18, 2015 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Tim Portwood officiating. He will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Garden in Schererville. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
