Tommy Smith, age 47, of Portage passed away Thursday July 16, 2020 at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso.  Tommy was born August 17, 1972 in Valparaiso, Indiana to Leon and Viola (Smith) Smith.  Tommy loved hunting and fishing and spending time outdoors.  He also enjoyed playing at the Bluechip Casino.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife Stephanie; his daughter, Jasmine Lambert of Portage; his parents Leon and Viola Smith of Portage; his brother, David Smith of Portage; his sister, Teresa (Rich Stover) Smith of Portage; and many nieces and nephews.

Tommy's family wishes to encourage the wearing of face masks during the visitation and services, but doesn't require their use.

Visitation will be held Wednesday July 22, 2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana 46368.  Tommy's funeral service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Blake Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the juvenile diabetes association.
