Tonya Lynn Connelly, age 46, a longtime resident of Portage passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011. She was born on September 1, 1964 in Hammond the daughter of Harold and Yvonne Cox. Tonya proudly served her country in the United States Marine Corps. Tonya was married to Bill Connelly on April 4, 1991 in Hammond. She worked as a manager of food service for Aylesworth Elementary School and was a wonderful homemaker. Tonya enjoyed computers, bunko, cross-stitching, and helping everyone she could. Her greatest love was to be with her grandchildren.

Tonya is survived by her loving family; husband Bill Connelly, Portage, sons Andy Jo (Jessica) Cox, Martinsville, Trevor Goble, Portage, and Jason (Lisa) Goble, Portage, Shawn Connelly, Portage, daughters Erin Connelly, Portage, Andrea (Tim) Bradford, South Haven, grandchildren; Paige, Jerry Otto, Landon, Nathan, Alexis, Tyler, and Dylan, father Harold (Donna) Cox, Mattoon, IL, sisters Debbie (Richard) Bell, Plymouth, Sharon Anderson, Plymouth, and Billie (Don), Taraskewicz, Lake Station, brother Greg (Amy) Cox, Lake Station, and other loving family and dear friends. Tonya was preceded in death by her mother Yvonne Cox.

A visitation for Tonya Connelly will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Rees Funeral Home – Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage with a funeral service at 7:00 pm with Chaplain Craig Forwalter, officiating.
