Trudy Jansen

Gertrude "Trudy" Jansen, age 80, of Lake Station, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018 at St. Mary Medical Center. She was born in Kentucky on November 6, 1938 to the late Jason and Cleo Shepherd.  Trudy was a member of Central Avenue Church of God in Portage.  She enjoyed crocheting in her free time.

Trudy is survived by her husband, Darrel Jansen; son, Mark Nelson; siblings, Harold (Elsa), Darlene (Tim), Tommy (Jennifer); and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sons, David Drummond, Charles "Chuck" Nelson; and siblings, Mary, Bobby, Dianna, Carl, Jason, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Avenue Church of God or the hospice center of your choice.

A funeral service will take place Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Robert Sluder officiating at Central Avenue Church of God, 5120 Central Ave. Portage, IN 46368.  Visitation will be held prior to the service on Tuesday from 10-11 am at the church.  Trudy will be laid to rest on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 10:00 am at Calvary Cemetery, 2701 Willowdale Rd.
