Tyrone J. Beird "Ty", age 42, of Hobart, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018. He was born on March 2, 1976 in Merrillville, Indiana to Thomas L. and Rita M. Beird. He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. Ty loved his 1973 Volkswagen bus and traveling to Grateful Dead shows. Most importantly, Ty will be remembered as a dedicated father who cherished the time he spent with his children.

Ty is survived by his parents, Thomas and Rita Beird; daughter, Emily Denise Beird; sons, Thomas Joseph Beird, Joshua Jacob Smith; former wife, Melissa Denise Beird; brothers, Chuck (Joanna) Beird and family; Tim (Jonica) Beird and family; sister, Sherry (Kris) Lukas and family.

Memorial contributions in Ty's name may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.

Visitation for Ty will be held Friday, April 27, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph St. Crown Point/ Winfield 46307. Prayers will take place Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 9:15 am at the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Bridget Catholic Church, corner of Front and Center Streets, Hobart.
