VALERIE A. JOHNSON, age 63, of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at home. Valerie had been a Valparaiso resident for 44 years and graduated from Hobart High School in 1967. She was employed at The Post-Tribune. Valerie loved gardening, tole painting and enjoyed the solitude of the beach. She was loved by everyone who knew her and was an avid animal lover. Her pets were her extended family and the "love of her life". Valerie enjoyed researching genealogies.
She is survived by her brother, Larry Johnson of Hobart, sister, Janice Carter, niece, Melanie Johnson, all of Hobart and nephew, Derek Carter of Chesterton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin & Pauline Johnson.
