Velma K. "Sis" "GG" Schramm (nee Bubik) , age 93 a longtime Merrillville/Hobart resident passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025.  She was born on July 4, 1932 in Gary, Indiana to the late James and Pauline Bubik.  Velma worked at St. Anthony's Family Daycare Center as a Daycare Aid retiring in March 1990 and also at John Wood Elementary as an Assistant Baker.  She enjoyed traveling and being a caregiver for her family.

She is survived by one son, Mark (Tambi) Schramm of Hobart, IN; one son-in-law, Troian "Troy" Cristea of Crown Point, IN; three grandchildren, Jenee (Denny) Frizzell, Tim Seibal, and Matt Seibal, four great-grandchildren, Taylor and Matthew Seibal, and Brynn and Drew Frizzell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Schramm, two sons, Steven Schramm, and Paul Schramm II, one daughter, Terese Cristea, three brothers, James Bubik Jr., Robert Bubik, and Richard Bubik, and one granddaughter, Jerra Schramm.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Crown Point Health Campus and staff and the Dunes Hospice of Valparaiso.

Funeral services are Monday, October 27, 2025 at 10  a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W.
