Veril T. Easter, age 92 of Portage passed away Monday, January 23, 2012. She was born on February 12, 1919 in Brownell Kansas to the late Dale and Thelma Johnston. She was a longtime Portage resident and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Hobart Chapter.
She is survived by 1 son, Landy D. (late Pat) Herndon, Sr. of Portage, IN; 1 daughter, Claudia E. (late Jay) Corbett of Portage, IN; 6 grandchildren, Landy Jr. (late Bev), Jeffrey, Dennis (Marian), Greg, Joey (Tanya), and Jamie (Kevin), 7 great-grandchildren, Desa-Rae (Allan), Jew-Lee (Kip), Kimberly (Justin), Denny (Brie), Jagger, Courtney, and Gabrielle, 6 great-great-grandchildren, Pryce, Gracie, Luella, Maxwell, Cheyenne, and Riley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Blackie Easter, 1 brother, Vance E. Johnston, and 1 sister, Wanda E. Tribble.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Veril's honor may be made to the charity of your choice.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 10:00am at Rees Funeral Home, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage.
