VERN H. LARSON, age 92, of Hobart, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011. He was a resident of Hobart for 23 years coming from Lombard, IL. Vern married Myrtle Drexler on April 10, 1943 in Des Plaines. He served his country in the US Army during WWII and was a retired employee of Illinois Bell. Vern was a member of Peace United Church of Christ. He was a very good dancer and also enjoyed fishing and camping. He will be remembered as a very loving husband, father and grandfather.

Vern is survived by his wife of 68 years, Myrtle; daughter, Karen Peterman of Hobart; son, Wayne (Nancy) Larson of Hobart; 3 grandchildren, Kerri (Jason Shellard) Zarate, Eric (Tina) Larson, and Wayne Larson; 3 great grandchildren, Jesse, Johnny and Silver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Frances Larson and brother, Clifford Larson.

A funeral service for Vern will be Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart with Rev. Joan Mier officiating.
