Verna Mirynowski, age 96, of Portage, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 at Fountainview in Portage. Verna was born in Gary, Indiana, on December 20,1915 to Max and Alexandra Sulovka. She was a member of the American Legion Post 454 Auxiliary in Hobart. Verna will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by her 3 daughters; Corrine Ochall of Hobart, Arlene Momola of Portage and Esther (Edward) Kish of California, 10 grandchildren; Jack (Denise) Ochall, Mark (Debbie) Ochall, Leslie (Joe) Guerrero, Dedra (Bill) Tervo, Donna (Larry) Lyons, Denise Momola, Janene Momola, Michele (Greg) Gelgand, Lisa (Doug) Hall, Krista (Michael) Kirk, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, 2 nephews Walter (Mary) Nicheporchek and Dennis Cruz, beloved friend Romona Vesquez and many other loving family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Edmond Mirynowski, 3 sisters,and a brother.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, with Father Robert B. Evers officiating. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 10:00 am until time of service at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VNA Hospice of Porter County.
