Victor Baltrushaitis

VICTOR BALTRUSHAITIS, age 86, of New Chicago, passed away April 12, 2018.  He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 24, 1931 to the late Paul and Teophilia Baltrushaitis.  Victor proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War.  He was a charter member of the American Legion #289 and a member of VFW #1563.  Victor worked as an equipment installer at AT&T and retired after 42 years of service.  He was an active member of Assumption BVM Church where he served for many years as Raffle Ticket Chairman and also a recognized volunteer for Catholic Charities. Victor belonged to and volunteered at the Maria Reiner center for 5 years and was a friend of Dr. Bob and Bill Wilson. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary (nee Dobrowolsky); son, John (Karen) Baltrushaitis; 3 daughters, Joyce (Mark) Harris, Ann (Michael) Rosas, and Louise (Paul) Guglielmetti; 6 grandchildren, Brian and Heather Harris, Lily and Timothy Rosas, Lauren and Madelyn Baltrushaitis; great granddaughter, Elizabeth Forte; brother, Bernard (Nancy) Baltrushaitis; special niece, Teresa (Jeff) Acree; nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Casimir Balt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Assumption B.V.M. Church, 3530 Illinois St., New Chicago, with Fr. Lourdu Pasala officiating.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 4:30 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W.
