Victor James Garcia, age 62 a Portage, Indiana resident, formerly of South Chicago passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014. He was born on April 19, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Jesse and Rita Garcia. Victor was a retired Truck Driver from Black Horse Carrier. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp.

He is survived by his wife, Maryann (nee Borisich-Harrison) Garcia; four children, Victor James Garcia Jr, Karyn Garcia, Jessica Garcia; stepdaughter, Dawn (Javier Lopez) Harrison; seven grandchildren, Uriah Gale, Cameron and Jesse Garcia, Alyssa and Maddox Garcia, Javier J. Lopez and Tiffany Harrison; four sisters, Rosemary Zivat, Vivian (Joseph) Bzdyl, Gloria Merola and Diane (Paul) Levandoski, many nephews, nieces and other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Ralph Merola
