Victor Gonzalez Sr., age 61 a longtime Valparaiso resident passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020.  He was born on February 22, 1959 to the late Robustiano and Margarita Gonzalez.  Victor retired from U.S. Steel after 41 years of service.  He was a devout Christian and a longtime member of South Haven Christian Church.  He was very devoted to his family.  They considered him to be the rock of the family and he was known affectionately as "Big Vic".  Victor loved music and was an avid Chicago sports fan.  (except for the Cubs).

He is survived by his wife of over 41 years, Myrna Gonzalez (Nee Vega) of Valparaiso, IN; four children, Raquel Gonzalez of Portage, IN; Victor (Erlinda) Gonzalez II of Valparaiso, IN; Jaclyn Gonzalez of Valparaiso, IN; Samuel (Hannah) Gonzalez of Portage, IN; six grandchildren, Brian, Viviana, Victoria, Caleb, Elena, Samuel, siblings, William, Carmen, Feliciano, and Milagrin and the Vega Family.

Funeral services are private for the immediate family.  Cremation will take place with Rees Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Portage Chapel.  (219) 762-3013.
