Violet Molnar, age 94, of Lake Barrington, Illinois and formerly of Hobart passed away Wednesday August 24, 2016 in the home of her loving daughter. Violet was born December 10, 1921 in East Gary, Indiana to the late Gaza and Lydia (Kalmar) Nestor. She was a retired clerk for Fannie Mae Candies and a volunteer with the St. Mary Medical Center Auxiliary since 1976 with over 12,000 hours of service. Violet was also a member of the Grace Reform Church in Gary prior to its dissolution.

She is survived by her daughter Roberta (Charles) Mroczek of Lake Barrington, IL and many nieces and nephews.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Louis; four brothers, Louis, Gustave, Alex, and Steve Nestor; and her sister Gizella Pojani.

Visitation will be Wednesday August 31, 2016 from 4-8 pm with a 4 pm St Mary Medical Center Auxiliary Memorial Service at the Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday September 1, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Calumet Park Cemetery.
