Violet Tluczek

Violet Tluczek, age 84, of Valparaiso, formerly of Portage and Hobart, Indiana  passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020.  She was born in Gary, Indiana on February 14, 1936 to the late John and Catherine Evanovich. She was a past member of Nativity of Our Savior Church in Portage and worked for the Blessed Sacrament Custodial and Catering. Violet will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She is survived by her son, Joseph (Shawn) Tluczek; two sisters Dorothy Nafus and Mildred Campbell; and many nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Tluczek; her parents; daughter, Cynthia Tluczek;  three brothers, Michael, Samuel, and George Evanovich, three sisters, Ann Shirey, Mary Kenjic and Bessie Evanovich.

A funeral service for Violet will take place Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 11 am with Rev. David Kime officiating at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd.
