Virgadell D. (nee Kenney) Bateman
Age 87, of Leroy, Indiana, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Lowell Healthcare Center in Lowell, Indiana. She was born in Lowell, Indiana on February 14, 1929, to the late Cecil R. Mabel (nee Einspahr) Kenney. She worked as an office manager for Lowell and Crown Point, Indiana License Bureaus. She was active in the Republican Party and numerous Winfield Township committees. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Ronald) Warner of Lebanon, TN; four grandchildren; Ronald W. (Sarah) Warner of Lebanon, TN, Ronielle (Steve) Carney Bush Creek, TN., Caleb and Kyle Bateman of Chicago, IL, five great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra (Neal) Wilson of Rensselaer, IN, devoted friend Jo Anne Richi, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Virgadell was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne E. Bateman Sr. and her son, Wayne E. Bateman Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the activities department at Lowell Healthcare Center or the Volunteer Fire Departments of Hebron or Lakes of the Four Seasons.
A funeral service for Virgadell will take place Friday, September 30, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph St. Winfield/Crown Point, IN 46307 with Rev. Jodi Kosary officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, IN.
