VIRGINIA R. BLOKSHA, age 97, of Valparaiso, and formerly of Hobart, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023. She was born on October 21, 1925 in Houston, TX. Virginia worked as a floor supervisor at the W.T. Grant department store and was also a skilled seamstress. She had been an avid bowler and pinochle player, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post #100.  Virginia will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Virginia is survived by her 2 daughters, Diane (Larry) Major Fields of Plymouth and Valorie (Louis) Valse of Hebron; 4 grandchildren, Michael (Shelly) Major, Shelly (Michael) Wood, Stephanie (Adam) Goss, and Amanda (Ryan) Posey; 8 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vladimir Bloksha; mother, Frances Radabaugh; brothers, Robert, David, and Walter Radabaugh; and sister Betty Pledger.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dunes Hospice.

There will be a memorial service for Virginia on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 12 Noon at Hobart Trinity Methodist Church, 3561 Randolph St. (Route 51), Hobart, IN, with a luncheon to follow at 1:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, www.reesfuneralhomes.com.
