Virginia L Palmer, age 84, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017.  She was born in Sumner, Illinois on April 6, 1933 to the late Lona Palmer. She retired from St. Anthony's Hospital where she worked as a Registered Nurse for 18 yrs. Virginia will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt and friend.

Virginia is survived by her sister, Mary Simkins of Hammond; two nephews, Michael (Kara) Simkins, David (Jan) Palmer; four nieces, Melanie (Jeff) Foster, Michelle (Mark) Kline, Melissa Simkins and Jodi Palmer; niece-in-law, Mary Palmer and numerous great- nieces and great- nephews and many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother; brother, Harold Palmer; two nephews, Harold Palmer Jr. and John Palmer and niece, Pamela Dowd.

A funeral service for Virginia will take place Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 4:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph St. Winfield, Indiana 46307. Family burial will take place at Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation for Virginia will take place Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service also at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel/ Crown Point, Indiana 46307.
