VIRGINIA E. TAGGART, age 90, of Hobart, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at home. Virginia had been a Hobart resident since 1990 and served as an Army nurse, 2nd Lieutenant, during WW II. She was a retired registered nurse employed at the Hammond Clinic for over 40 years and member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Hessville section of Hammond.
She is survived by 2 sons, Gary (Marla) Taggart of St. Louis, MO, Thomas (Rosemary) Taggart of Hobart, daughter, Susan (Rodney) Cobb of Scottsdale, AZ, 6 grandchildren: Tony Taggart, Michelle (Scott) Peters, Jessica Taggart (Rob Gadberry); Joshua, Katie and Daniel Taggart, 2 great grandchildren: Candace and Emma Taggart, sister, Norma Malysz of Rockford, IL, brother, Daryl (Nancy) Thomas of Indianapolis, IN, many nieces & nephews, special "furry" friends: Zoe, Sophie, Benny, Cloe, Bogart, Jack, Vadar, Hippity, Hoppity and Macka. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval E. Taggart in 1973 and brother, William Thomas.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Rev. James A. Thomson officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, Indiana.
