Wallace Stewart

Wallace A. Stewart 'Wally', age 78, of Hobart, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020. He was born on July 7, 1941 in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Gaylord and Garnet Stewart. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. On August 8, 1962, he married the love of his life, Pearl Stewart, who preceded him in death in 2011. Wally retired from working as a meat cutter for Strack and Van Til and Ultra grocery stores. He enjoyed fishing and camping, University of Kentucky Basketball and watching NASCAR racing.

He is survived by his daughter, Darlena (Wayne) Whittle; grandchildren, Joshua (Paola) Knox, Matthew (Abbey) Knox; great grandchildren, Jaime Wallace Knox and Rowan Alexander Knox; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pearl Stewart; son, Wallace Stewart, Jr. 'Jay'; parents, Gaylord and Garnet Stewart; and brothers, Larry and Odell Stewart.

A funeral service for Wally will take place Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 6:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with visitation there from 2:00 pm until the time of service.
