"Jim" Tresemer
June 11, 1940 – January 29, 2024
Walter J. "Jim" Tresemer, 83, of Hobart passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 11, 1940, in Valparaiso, Indiana to the late Henry and Thelma (Nee: Cunningham) Tresemer.
Jim grew up in Wheeler, Indiana. On September 16, 1961, he was married to Dolores Fahey. Together they raised their daughter, Jill. Jim was drafted into the Army and stationed Kirch Gons, Germany. When he returned from duty, he went to work for US Steel as a millwright until he retired. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed collecting model trains, camping with his family, and everything about John Wayne. Above all, Jim was a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be missed greatly.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Dolores; daughter, Jill (Greg) Massom; granddaughter, Nicole Tresemer; great grandson, Cayson Tresemer; and brother, Fred Tresemer.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in passing by his sisters, Pauline Tresemer, and Donna Ford.
Visitation will take place from 2:00pm – 7:00pm Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342, with military honors at 5:30pm. The funeral service will be Monday, February 5 at 10:00am, also at Rees Hobart Chapel, burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso.
