Wanda Douglas

Wanda L. (née Barker) Douglas, age 82, of Hobart, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026. She was born on August 5, 1943, in Ashland, Kentucky, to the late James and Ferl Barker.

On August 5, 1971, Wanda married the love of her life, Herman Douglas, in Wise, Virginia. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and devotion to family. Wanda was a homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. Her greatest joy came from nurturing her family, and her kitchen was the heart of the home. She especially loved cooking for family gatherings and baking treats for the neighborhood children.

She is survived by her sons, Stephen Douglas of Kentucky, and Harvey J. Douglas of Hobart; her grandchildren, Natalie (Andrew Deeter) Douglas and Samuel Douglas; her cherished great-granddaughter, Cirilia; her brother, Larry (Patsy) Barker; her sister, Lou Ann Hill; and her sister-in-law, Judy Barker.

Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman Douglas, and her brother, Charles Barker.

Visitation for Wanda will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. She will be laid to rest at Coalton Cemetery in Coalton, Kentucky.
