Warren McKay, age 76, of Lake Station passed away Monday May 25, 2015 at the Vibra Hospital of North West Indiana in Crown Point, Indiana. Warren was born August 5, 1938 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late James and Ethel (Karnes) McKay. Warren worked as a florist for Galler's Florist in Gary for 16 years prior to going to work for LTV Steel Arcelor/Mittal Steel were he retired. Warren enjoyed traveling especially to Las Vegas.


Warren is survived by his beloved wife Marguerite (Patterson) McKay of Lake Station; his two daughters Wanda (Ricky) Rodriguez of Maryland and LaVonne "Bonnie" (Ronald) Boerema of Gary; six grandchildren Shannon Hunt, Jennifer Estrada, Donnie Daily, C.J. Baldauf, Willie Baldauf and Michael Daily; seven great grandchildren Jeremy, Lindsey, Jose, Bridgette, Aaliyah, Charlie and Braxton; his two brothers Hurrel (Janet) McKay of Indianapolis and Donnie McKay of Marion Kentucky; and his sister Phyllis Glore of Paducah, Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, one son Warren McKay, Jr.; a brother Floyd McKay and a sister Berta Fortner.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday May 29, 2015 at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel 3781 Central Avenue, Lake Station, Indiana 46405 with Pastor Doug Sheehy officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm Friday at the funeral home
