WAYMON ECORD ESSARY, age 80, of Hobart, passed away November 5, 2014. He was born on September 21, 1934 in a small farming community in Enville, TN. Waymon was a veteran of the US Army. He moved to Northwest Indiana and married the love of his life, Frances Rodd, on December 24, 1959 in Hobart. Waymon was a resident of NW Indiana for 62 years and retired from NIPSCO as a Certified Welder/Supervisor. He belonged to the American Legion Post #54 in Hobart and the First Baptist Church of Hobart. Waymon will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 54 happy years, Frances (nee Rodd); 3 daughters, Lori (Mark) Jackson, Susan (Randy) Fredenburg, Patty (Marshall) Curtis; 5 grandchildren, Jill (Nick) Balcerak, Brian Jackson, Jenny (Eric) Stafford, Holly (Jimmy) Ooms, and Heather Fredenburg; 8 great grandchildren, Ally, Lauren, Emmaly, Alivia, Connor, Brandon, Matthew, and Noah; 2 sisters, Maerene and Bernice.
Waymon was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Elector; beloved grandson, Billy Holtzman; sisters, Laverne, Axilene, and Maxine; and beloved dog, Shep.
A funeral service for Waymon will be Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., with Pastor Richard Brown officiating. Burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
