IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wenogene "Winnie"
Rosser
August 18, 1927 – February 15, 2024
Wenogene "Winnie" Rosser, 96, of Valparaiso went home to Heaven and her late husband, Clyde, on February 15, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born August 18, 1927, in Jennings County near North Vernon to the late Kelso and Elsie (Stites) Lapp.
Winnie married Clyde Rosser on October 17, 1945, and were together for 62 years until his passing in 2007. They raised a large family of 8 children. Winnie was employed as a clerk for the Hobart Township Trustee for 25 years. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 100. She took great pride in her home and loved decorating it for the different seasons and holidays. Winnie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was witty with a great sense of humor and a fabulous cook. She was happiest when she was cooking for the large family for holidays, and then the monthly family breakfasts she would host after Clyde's passing. Winnie will be missed greatly by all her family and friends.
Winnie is survived by her children, William Rosser, Kathleen (Don) Howard, Sandra (Luis) Cuellar, Diane (Don) Brown, Trudy (Terry) Boylan, John (Renea) Rosser, and Susan (George) Cherry; 21 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren; and brother, Charles (Patty) Lapp; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, Clyde, Winnie was preceded in passing by daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Seldon Manns; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Madalyn Lapp; and sister and brother-in-law, Iona and Elvis Bolton.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm – 5:00pm Monday, February 19 at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Avenue, Lake Station, IN 46405, with a funeral service to follow at 5:00pm, also at Rees Brady Chapel.
