Wesley F. Marlin, age 72, of Portage passed away suddenly on Wednesday November 21, 2012. He was born October 15, 1940 in Texas City, TX. He worked as a Dispatcher for TransUnited. Wesley was a Free and Accepted Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, and the Orak Shrine Temple in Michigan City. He will be greatly missed by his beloved family and several good and loyal friends from the Country Lounge Restaurant.
Wesley is survived by his partner in life Denise Wall (Jamie (Jake) Keil of Valparaiso and Kaleb Wall of Portage); stepson Greg (Debbie) Palmer of Lake Station; sisters Sherilee (Doug) Speer of Santa Fe, NM, Cindy (Dennis) Swender of Griffith and Debbie (Steve) Huddleston of Fresno, CA; four grandchildren Logan and Carle Palmer, Kiara and Xander Keil; several nieces, nephews, many good friends and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lee Louis and Eileen Vogt, his wife Nora Marlin, and one sister Donna Merritt.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday November 28, 2012 at the Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN 46342 with Rev. Mitch Whidden officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Shriners Children Hospitals or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or flowers may be sent.
