Wieslawa Sech

Wieslawa 'Vivian' Sech, age 86 of Germantown Hills, IL  (formerly of Hobart) passed away Friday, October 7, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 13, 1936 in Baranowicze, Poland to the late Konstanty and Janina Grunda. On March 30, 1964 she married Stanislaw Sech in Poland and they came to the United States soon thereafter. For over twenty years she worked as a cook at the Country Lounge in Hobart. Vivian dedicated her life to taking care of her family and she enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and performances whenever she could.

She is survived by: her sons Stanislaw (Wendy) Sech, Robert (Agnieszka) Sech, Adam (Pixie) Sech; daughter Renata (Dr. Todd) Karas; grandchildren Nicholas (Vivian) Sech, Justin (Sara) Sech, Nathaniel Sech, Austin Sech, Ola Sech, Olivia Sech, Evan Karas, Mitchell (fiancé Kelleen) Sech, Evangeline Sech, Noah Karas; great grandchildren Landon and Henry Sech; sister Danuta (Eugeniusz) Koziol; and beloved nephew Arthur (Mary) Sech.

She was preceded in death by her parents Konstanty and Janina Grunda; and her beloved husband Stanislaw Sech.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Shrine of the Salvatorian Fathers, 5755 Pennsylvania Street, Merrillville, IN 46410 with Rev. Mikolaj Markiewicz officiating in Polish. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
