William E. Martin, age 87 of Lake Station passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014. He was born on November 20, 1926 to the late Glenn and Ruth Martin. He was a lifetime Lake Station resident and retired from Republic Steel where he had worked as a Crane man. William served his country in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Indiana University.

He is survived by 2 children, Deborah (Steve Rospierski) Wineinger of Gainesville, GA; Steven (Mary) Martin of Portage, IN; 2 grandsons, Jeffrey and Jeremy Wineinger, 4 great-grandchildren, James, Morgan, Jeffrey, and Abigail, 1 nephew, Stephen (Judith) Staton, 1 niece, Catherine Staton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia W. Martin, 2 brothers, Roy and Monroe, and 3 sisters, Ann, Virginia, and Helen.
