William "Bill" M. Grinder
William Grinder, age 83, of Lake Station passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Cool Springs, Tennessee on December 12, 1932 to the late Malcolm and Vernelle (nee Patterson) Grinder. On May 4, 1957, William married his bride Geraldine (nee Berta) at the Sacred Heart Church in Gary, IN. He retired after 32yrs from USS where he worked as a pipefitter. He will be remembered as a "Mr. Fix-it" He loved fixing things and spending time working in the garage. He was a big fan of NASCAR and Country Music. He also enjoyed being outdoors, working in his yard, boating and fishing. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine Grinder of Lake Station; two daughters, Robin (John) Handley of Lake Station and Cindy Gentry of Lake Station and two grandchildren, Cody Jarvis and Sierra Gentry and many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jackie Grinder.
