William "Luke" Hartt

William L. Hartt "Luke", age 41, of Hobart, passed away at home on Saturday, September 21, 2019.  He was born in Valparaiso, Indiana on October 9, 1977.  He worked as the OIC of Security on the afternoon shift at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Luke was an avid lover of all things military, especially airplanes. As far as television goes, his favorite shows were The Andy Griffith Show and MASH, Barney Fife being his hero with Hawkeye next in line.  Luke had a heart of gold, always treating others as he would want his family to be treated.  He never met a stranger and always had kind words and words of encouragement.  He will be deeply missed, not only by his family, but by many who never even knew his name.

Luke is survived by his parents, William and Jackie Hartt and his sister, Jackie (Tim) Galambos.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. I would have no doubt that in Luke's passing he would say to you "Whenever you don't understand what is happening in your life, just close your eyes, take a deep breath, and say God, I know your plan, just help me through it."
