William H. Hutson, "Bill", age 74, of Merrillville, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017. He was born on February 24, 1943 in Gary, Indiana to the late Waddell and Elizabeth Hutson. A lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana, Bill was a member of the Isaac Walton League and Ducks Unlimited.  He enjoyed waterfowl hunting and fishing.

Bill is survived by his sons, Bill (Holly Hengy) Hutson, Gregory (Paula) Hutson, Todd Hutson; stepchildren he shared with his ex-wife, Barbara Hutson, Tommy Smith, Dr. Jill (Scott) Miller, Amy (Sid) Henningfield; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, John (Ellen Traub) Hutson; sisters, Mary Ann (Ed) White, Dr. Pam (Peter) Kurau; and good friend, Cheryl McInturf.

He was preceded in death by one step son, Marty Smith.

A funeral service for Bill will take place Monday, December 11, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
