William Joseph Clarke, fondly known as “Uncle Billy”, age 69, of Lake Station (formerly of Hammond, IN) quietly passed away on November 4, 2026. William was born on July 8, 1957, in Hammond, IN to the late Roger J. and Verl J. Clarke. He attended St. Joseph Catholic grade school and graduated from Hammond High School. After high school he proudly served our country in the United States of America Coast Guard.

William was proceeded in death by his parents and sister Joan (Dan) Narozny. William leaves behind his sisters, Gayle (Bob) Yesenskiy, Mary (Ray) Arnholt and Robyn (Tim) Johnson, brother, Robert Clarke and brother-in-law, Dan Narozny. Three nephews, Kevin (Kelly) Gearlds, Shawn (Michelle Ford) Gearlds and Jesse Clarke. Six nieces, Dezire (John) Clarke Meindersee, Emily (Lawton) Hill, Carrie Narozny, Jill Narozny, Caresa Batton and Loren Johnson. Seven great-nephews, six great-nieces and three great-great nephews and numerous cousins.

William enjoyed many adventures with his faithful canine buddy, “Joe Dog”. William liked attending family parties, cooking, playing chess, and especially the many hours spent shooting pool with his dad. William was an avid reader and loved a good novel. Although he enjoyed many foods, a cold sweet Frosty from Wendy’s was a favorite! William was a kind quiet soul who did not realize the many life lessons that were learned by those who loved him. He will be missed.
