William D. Patterson, "Billy", "Rocky", age 64, a lifelong resident of Lake Station, IN, passed away on Thursday April 20, 2023. Billy was born on December 18, 1958 in Gary, IN to the late Ellis Patterson and Beverly (nee Emerson) Currie. Billy retired from U.S. Steel as a millwright and welder with over 36 years of experience. He married Sheila (nee Cobb) on June 21, 2007. Billy enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was a talented harmonica player and he loved to pull it out of his pocket at any moment's notice for any available audience. Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Billy is survived by his wife of 15 years, Sheila; son: Christopher (Brittany) Patterson; step daughter: Racheal Jones; 4 step children by Judy; numerous grandchildren; siblings: Susan Dalton, Johnny Patterson, Cheryl (Rich) Childers, Cindy (Ted) Chelich, Ray (Cindy) Patterson, and Bob (Shellie) Patterson; 5 nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family. Billy is preceded in death by his parents: Ellis and Beverly and second wife: Judy. Arrangements are entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
