Obituary

WILLIAM J. ROSE. age 85, of Gary, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Sparrow Hospice House of Mid Michigan. William was a longtime Gary, Indiana resident for 55 years and WW II Navy Veteran serving on the USS Tennessee. He was a retired maintenance supervisor from Bethlehem Steel in Burns Harbor and former member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Miller. William was a member of American Legion Miller Post #279 and VFW Post #9323 in Lake Station.
He is survived by 4 daughters: Christine Wilson of Indianapolis, IN, Charlene Kostel of E. Lansing, MI, Sharon (Van) Bailey of Mason, MI and Cindy (Doug) Thomas of Chesterton, IN, son, Billy (Joyce) Rose of Gary, 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Michael Rose of Gary and Robert Rose of Valparaiso, sister, Marilyn Fabbri of Illinois, and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Germaine Rose. Memorials are preferred to Sparrow Hospice House of Lansing, MI.
Graveside services will be held Monday, September 17, 2012 at 11:00 am at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, 3815 W. 39th Ave., Hobart, with Deacon Richard Huber officiating.
