William "Bill" Sieckman Sr., age 87, of Valparaiso, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 at VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. He was born on January 5, 1929 in Gary, Indiana to the late Edwin and Oral Sieckman. Bill was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School class of 1947. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a lifetime Baker. Bill was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 16 years, Linda (Hudson) Sieckman; children, Ed Sieckman, Linda (Tom) McGinley, William (Katherine) Sieckman Jr.; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Sieckman; sister, Dorothy Qualizza; two sisters in law, Joan and Mina Sieckman; brother in law, Jim Qualizza. Memorial contributions in Bill's name may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association Foundation, 2401 Valley Drive, Valparaiso, IN 46383.

A funeral service for Bill will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, IN with Rev. Bill Taylor officiating. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
