WILLIAM D. "SKIP" MOURER, age 74, of Hobart, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Porter Regional Hospital. He was born on December 13, 1937 in Dunkirk, NY. He was longtime Hobart resident and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He served his country as a Seabee in the US Navy, and was a member of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association and the National Rifle Association. He was an avid woodworker, gunsmith, hot rod builder and mechanic.

Skip is survived by his wife, Gail (nee Davies); 4 sons, Kris (Johnnye Faye) Mourer and David (Rosetta) Mourer all of Texas, Michael (Shelley) Mourer of Hobart, and Jim (Nicky) of North Judson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; 1 brother, Terry (Louise) Mourer of Hebron; 1 sister, Joan (K) Ross of Texas; other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marian and William Mourer.

A funeral service for Skip will be Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., with Rev. Gary S. Nagy officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, (219) 942-2109 or online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com.
