William "Bill" W. Trapp, age 61, of Coldwater MI and formerly of Hobart, IN, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021.

Bill was born on July 15, 1960 in Gary, IN to the late William and Therese (nee Rearick) Trapp.  Bill was a machinist who worked at WheelTek in Freemont, IN.  He was a proud member of the Moose Lodge 2387 in Freemont, IN, often inviting all who could hear to "Come down on Wednesday for spaghetti dinner and drawings!"  He loved to fish and was adamant in teaching his family all about fishing.  Bill also enjoyed hunting, boat swimming, and being with his family. He loved NASCAR (and Dale Earnhardt), Indy-car, and drag racing.  Bill loved going to Michigan International Speedway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and taking the yearly trip to the Drag Racing Nationals in Indianapolis.

Bill was a wonderful brother, cousin, boyfriend, dear friend, uncle, and great-uncle, proclaiming that "He knew he was a great uncle, and now he is a GREAT great-uncle!"  His booming Santa Claus laugh left no doubt that Bill was near, and his overwhelming personality made him love others with his entire heart and soul.  He is loved deeply in return and missed by all who knew him.

Bill is survived by his sister: Diane (Thomas) Bates; nephew: Jason (Jayme) Bailey and their children: Noah, Aiden, and Luke; niece: Danielle (Michael) Johnson and their twin sons: Chandler and Tyler; loving girlfriend: Michelle Hartley; and multiple other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents: William and Therese Trapp; his brother: John Trapp; and NASCAR legend: Dale Earnhardt.

Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart, IN) on Monday, July 26, 2021 from 3:00-7:00 P.M.  A funeral service will begin at 7:00 P.M. with Fr. Tom Mischler officiating with cremation to follow.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cottage at a later date.  Go Bears!
