William H. Whiters, age 93, of Cedar Lake passed away Sunday August 3, 2014 in the Horton VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso, Indiana. Bill was born January 30, 1921 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late William H. and May (Hicks) Whiters. Bill was an order clerk that retired from Indiana Bell Telephone Company. He was a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran and member of the Cedar Lake American Legion Post. He was also a member Colfax Lodge #378, F&AM in Lowell.

Bill is survived by his nephews George (Jeane) Clements of Ohio and Billy (Cheryl King) Edmaiston of Hobart and many great nieces and nephews including Danielle, Nick, Dillon, Randy (Randi Ann), Mike (Sue), Steve (Donna) and Jeff (Kim).

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife Fern and sister Grace Clements.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am Thursday August 7, 2014 at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road with Mr. Randy Edmaiston officiating. Burial will follow in Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home with a 7pm memorial service.
