William C Whiteside

William "Bill" C. Whiteside, Sr., age 74, of Portage, passed away Sunday, February 05, 2017. He was born in Gary, IN on November 30, 1942 to the late Jewell "Jack" and Margaret (nee Hammond) Whiteside. Bill enjoyed woodworking, motorcycles, fishing, hunting and gardening. Bill will be remembered as loving father, husband, and brother.
Bill is survived by his wife, of 47 years, Carole (nee Walker) Whiteside; sons, Thomas Whiteside, William Whiteside, Jr.; daughter, Sheri (James) Carmichael; brother, Douglas Whiteside; and brother-in-law, Jerry Lee Walker
A Funeral Service for Bill will take place Friday, February 10, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave Portage, IN 46368 with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Visitation will take place Friday, February 10, 2017 from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, Indiana.
