William "Junior" Wozniak, Jr., age 78, of Valparaiso passed away Tuesday September 3, 2013 at the Horton VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. William was born October 2, 1934 in Gary, Indiana to the late William and Theresa (Vaclavick) Wozniak, Sr. William was a welder that retired from US Steel in 1997 with 42 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. He was also a member of American Legion Post #502 and the Voiture Locale #1507 of the 40 and 8, Knights of Columbus Council #12149, E.A.A. Chapter #104 of Northwest Indiana. William was a Naval Veteran. He was very artistic and loved drawing and photography.
William is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Agnes (Horvath) Wozniak; four children Angela (Kevin Kerlin) Byroad of Miller, Robert Wozniak of California, Thomas (Jay Brooks) Wozniak of Parker, CO and Sandra (Jesse) Walker; four grandchildren Nicholas (Nikole) Byroad, Jennifer (Arron) Knisley, Rachelle Walker and Jenna Walker; four great grandchildren Addison, Jayce,Ryne and Evan; three siblings John Wozniak, Elizabeth (Manford) Craig and Michael Wozniak all of Arizona and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings Ted Wozniak, Walter Wozniak and Theresa Hostetler.
A Mass of Christian Burial for William will begin Monday, September 9, 2013 with 9:30 am prayers at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Ave. and then to Our Lady of Sorrows, Catholic Church 356 W. CR 700N, Valparaiso, Indiana, 46385 with Rev. Paul Quanz, CSB officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 pm Sunday at the funeral home with a 4 pm wake service.
