Willie Clarence Jones

Age 73, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Willie was born on January 21, 1940 to the late Clarence and Lavada (nee Sides) Jones in Sturgis, Mississippi. He was a retired Millwright at Bethlehem Steel, a member of American Legion Post 279 in Miller Dunes. Willie was an avid gardener, he enjoyed fishing, bowling on the senior league at Rays Lanes in Lake Station. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Willie is survived by his wife 46 yrs. Dorothy (nee Watson) of Portage, son Shawn (Mystic Hall) Jones of Portage, two daughters, Adriane Jagger of Portage, Julie Hudgins of Chicago ; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Summer, Dustin and Drake, one great-grandson, Elliott, two brothers, Frank Jones and Fletcher Jones of Sturgis , Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service for Willie will be held January 4, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. with Major Jon Welch officiating at Rees Funeral Home- Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave, Portage, Indiana, 46368. Cremation will follow. Visitation will also be held January 4, 2014 from 2:00 p.m., until time of service.
