Wilma June Mauck (nee Simpson) age 88, a 57 year Hobart resident passed away Friday, March 15, 2024.  She was born in Gentryville, Indiana on June 19, 1935 to the late Alton and Matilda Simpson.  June graduated as the valedictorian of the Class of 1952 at Haubstadt high school in Southern Indiana.  She married Jerry W. Mauck on June 8, 1952.  June raised her family here in Hobart and went on to work for over 30 years at the Hobart McDonalds retiring in 2003.  She was a longtime active member of the Deep River Church of Christ.  Family was her life.

She is survived by four children, Linda (Dave) Wenger of Valparaiso, IN; David (Debbie) Mauck of Hobart, IN; Dan (Kim) Mauck of South Haven, MI; Sherry (Keith) Troutman of Winfield, IN; two brothers, Clete (Judy) Simpson, Jerry (Jackie) Simpson, two sisters, Jeanne Phillips, Pat (Steve) Knapp, 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2007, Jerry W. Mauck, her son, Kenneth Mauck, brother, Nolan Simpson, sister, Edith Wheat,  three grandchildren, Zachary Mauck, Chris Mauck, Niki Bradford, and great-grandchild, Gerid Bradford, Amelia Olson.

Funeral services are Thursday , March 21, 2024 at 6 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Mr. Ron Buche officiating.  Cremation will follow.  Visitation is Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.  (219) 942-2109.  After the cremation there will be a private family burial of Cremains at McCool Cemetery in Portage.
