Winifred Weaver
Winnie Weaver, age 84 of Portage passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012. She was born on July 8, 1927 in Roseville, Ohio to Louis and Ida Rader. She worked as a secretary for the Portage Fire Department, Fire Chief for over 29 years. She enjoyed playing the organ at church, sewing, knitting and painting. She was a loving, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend she will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving family: sons; Gary (Raynell) Weaver of Michigan, Rick (Cassandra) Weaver of Texas, daughter; Linda Weaver of Portage, 8 grandchildren; Anna Swartzell, Christine Agnew, David and Andrew Koughn, Paul, Tamara, AJ Weaver, Tiffany Allen and Tonya, Lawrence II and Lisa Weaver and Kaytlyn Christie. 13 great grandchildren; Alex, Rachil, Kevin, Becky Swartzell, Jacob, Brandan, Benjaman, Johnathan, Charles Agnew III, Laura, Colleen, Alyssa and Avery Weaver. 1 great- great grandchild Abel, sister; Margaret Fountain of Ohio, and sister in law Jean Caris of Michigan, many other loving family members and friends.
Her husband, Lawrence, parents and her grandson Timothy Weaver, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be Thursday, April 5,2012 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Richard Brown officiating at First Baptist Church of Hobart, 1 N. Pennsylvania Street, Hobart, IN 46342. Visitation for Winifred will be Wednesday April 4, 2012 from 4:00-8:00pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, In 46368. Burial at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery in Zanesville, Ohio on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 10:00 am .
