Zygmund Woods, age 82 of Hobart passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011. He was born on January 20, 1929 to the late Frank and Antonine (nee Trafny) Wojciechowski. He was a longtime Hobart resident and a member of Assumption BVM Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Zygmund retired from U.S. Steel where he worked as a Millwright.

He is survived by his wife, Carole Woods (nee Dziubla) of Hobart, IN; 1 son, Alan Woods of MI; 1 step-daughter, Donna (Douglas) Pociask of Hebron, IN, 1 brother-in-law, Larry (Violet) Dziubla of Valparaiso, IN; 1 brother-in-law, Walter August of Bloomington, IN; 2 sisters-in-law, Sophie Wojihoski, Judy Lozanovski, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Woods, 1 daughter, Georgean Crandall, 3 brothers, Walter (Stella), Joseph and John (Lillian) Wojciehowski, 5 sisters, Mary (Ray) Kadow, Irene (Frank) Walters, Lucille (Joseph) Euvino, Eva (Bernard) Roth, and his twin sister, Zita August, 1 brother-in-law, Tome Lozanovski.

Funeral services are Thursday, December 22, 2011 beginning with 9:30 a.m. prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road and proceeding to Assumption BVM for a 10 a.m. mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Lourdu Pasala officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage.
